Well, this sounds familiar. Once when I was heavily doing professional web designing a contractor made me design a website, and then put his own name in the credits. It especially mattered because it was one of the Rotary websites. A few of my hackers friends helped me and we were able to change the credits. Many a time people have used my content without paying me the remaining amount after paying an advance. Hmm...I guess this is how the normal business world works.

Just sounds like a VC deal that was never closed... was there a check for a half million? If so, then they got screwed, but if not they just advanced too much information before signing; bad move for a VC.
