I know one thing. If you were watching CNN you were getting a completely different story on most things than if you were watching Fox News.
CNN was a 24/7 negative view and the first to point fingers. Fox had a more balanced view (of course!) and did not focus on the politics of the tragedy, but on the reality of it.
Hehehehe. Yup, the fair and balanced folks at crooksandliars.com were very impressed by the reality-based reporting of Foxs Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera, too.

Until now I thought that all of them are robots programmed by murdoch. Nice to see some real emotions. They should send all their staff to that bridge over troubled water…
Sorry, I finally got out of the house for a few hours. Bought and packaged some hygiene items to drop off at a relief station for refugees and THEN HAD A BIG MARGARITA! Whew! I needed it! I’ve been spending 18 hour days at the computer. Anyway, you’re just a few blocks from Drew, and that area is fine. He’s seen nothing but minor roof damage and fences going down. So even if I can’t confirm your specific block, I wouldn’t worry. As Trudge has said, things are quiet. I think everyone from this part of Uptown can pretty much breathe a sigh of relief and be very thankful that their homes escaped the fate of so many of their fellow citizens!
The really bad was that dumb bitch Celine Dionne on CNN tonite–what a freaken moonbat drama queen. I upchucked my cookies listening to the ditzy dumbo.
I know you live and die by the blogosphere and it defeating the MSM, but frankly you both don’t get it and you never will ….you and the MSM are still too self absorbed..you thinking you are replacing them and they thinking they still rule….pathetic…personal communication without you being involved is all that has ever ruled…the stories that are never reported by you and your cohorts are the ones that live..told endlessly grandmother to mother to child, grandfather to father child…you silly people will never repace that,,no matter how self important you think you are…it will never be written,..it can only be witnessed and then told from the heart….and no one will ever tell the story now…but only years and years from now.
Well, if you avoid the American media entirely, you can discover that every every pice of “good news” the Bush posed in front of was staged.
They dropped a bunch of construction equipment in front of the 17th Street levee, took some pictures, and took the equipment back.
Also:
“ZDF News reported that the president’s visit was a completely staged event. Their crew witnessed how the open air food distribution point Bush visited in front of the cameras was torn down immediately after the president and the herd of ‘news people’ had left and that others which were allegedly being set up were abandoned at the same time. The people in the area were once again left to fend for themselves, said ZDF.”
Now we know what took them so long to respond. It takes a couple days to prepare the propaganda.
Wingnuts, your Dear Leader has no clothes. Never has.
Journalist Claudia Rüggeberg : ‘The situation in Biloxi hasn’t changed, everything is still missing’
She quoted desperate inhabitants claiming Bush should have brought supplies in his limousines instead of bodyguards and assistants.
Can’t find this in the MSM with google news search. So much for the supposedly leftist US media.
I would be willing to undertake this task except then I would have to watch Rita Cosby breath every four words in a sentence and wouldn’t be able to change the channel to avoid hearing her call taped video “Live” coverage.
I started a variation of your request. It’s not exactly a list of the best or worst coverage, but two lists of examples of the best or worst surrounding this entire crisis. I’ve categorized them as my “stupid list” and my “smart list.” Both can be found here:

Yup. I’m doing it. And I’ve telling you constantly.
Here’s the best.

Watching people keep their humor in the NOLA.com forums. Watching them organize patrols, watching them check up on each other and organize evacuation.
You can still help. Or you can watch CNN. thinknola@engrm.com

Grray,
Exactly! No one can say that Fox didn’t have reporters upset with the slow reponse.
Until now I thought that all of them are robots programmed by murdoch. Nice to see some real emotions. They should send all their staff to that bridge over troubled water…
Is it soooooo much more important to talk about what Fox says? I’m telling you. There is news in this NOLA.com community forum no one is reporting.
Here are feeds. Watch these feeds. There are so many ways to help people.

I’m going to cry. The disconnect it total.
This seems like it fits the bill.

I’ve been spotlighting the best journalism and blogging I’ve seen on Katrina at my blog:

Here’s a link to a description of Bush’s visit in Biloxi by german TV ZDF (sry, german language only):

Jeff, we’ve been blogging Katrina’s coverage since the day before it hit.
http://www.lostremote.com
Before I saw this post I started saving off copies of the looniest articles, and I’m now starting to put them into a new site:
Katrina Coverage
There are only a few posts there at present, but I’ll be adding much more on the morn.
Frankly, the major problem appears to be editing: otherwise I’d just copy everything from the HuffPost into my site.
“It is reported that black hurricane victims in New Orleans have begun eating corpses to survive.”
Here is a large collection of links to some of the best Katrina blogging:
