I'm with Susan. Look at Yahoo 360, where Yahoo introduced an interesting and exciting idea but has pretty much just let it languish. It's still in Beta, though an expanded one. Yahoo looks to be innovating by buying innovators, not by being innovative (now ain't that a mouthful!). Everything they own seems to become stale rapidly. I doubt that will be sustainable long-term.

Another thing about Yahoo buying all these cool web-app sites.

First they court 'em, [spring, 2005]
then they buy 'em, [June 14, 2005]
then they stop updating the news blurb blog about 'em, [June 14, 2005]
then they break them. [Late summer and fall, 2005]

The example I speak of is Blo.gs, found at http://blo.gs, which has been the site I go (repeatedly, like multiple times per day) to in order to find out who's just posted.

The only way to add new blogs is to "search" for them. Well, Yahoo has "temporarily disabled" search. For nigh unto a month, now. More sordid details here .

While you're hobnobbing with all the Beautiful Web 2.0 people, would you ask a Yahooligan there why Blo.gs is broken? Because I've tried, and gotten no response. You seem to have some pull with these kindsa folks, after all the DellHell stuff.

Thanks!

Coming Attractions: Net Porn, Brown Power.

This blogging thing is thirsty work. Give me enough Premoistened Lemon Pledge Wipes, and I'd rather clean the Augean stables. I've been under the hammer of a dozen deadlines, hence my absence from the bully pulpit. That's my cover story,...
