Jefferson wasn’t a Republican, he didn’t say it in a speech overseas, and it wasn’t part of an “America is going to hell because I wasn’t elected” message, so it isn’t a counter-example of my claim.

My point is that latter-day Dems have a habit of going overseas and giving “America is going to hell because I wasn’t elected/we’re not in power” speeches. Not only is that “poor form”, it is something that Repubs are far less likely to do.

I am appalled by Gore’s deliberate attempts at misleading. Most, I am sure, do not have the patience to wade thru Gore’s verbal diarrhea to really listen /read and recognize the dishonest double speak. That’s how he’s gotten by for so long I guess. When speeches are so long and painfully boring, you can say most anything cause it’s too torturous to really listen!

This is not the first time I’ve heard him refer to the Dan Rather incident, like “Conservatives should be ashamed when they try to convince people it’s not fair to take faxed copies of a Microsoft Word document and try to pass it off as thirty years old”

The top down problem solving approach of the left is in conflict with the emergent problem solving power of the internet and it’s democratic nature. If you accept that the decentralized internet works then you have to wonder why that same line of thinking doesn’t apply to economics and Hayek’s laissez faire approach to society.
