[...] I wish I could collect the crumbs I leave across the web: a review on Amazon, a photo on Flickr, a tag on Del.icio.us, a group-podcast soundbite at Schlaflos in Muenchen, a quote in a news story, a hotel rating at Trip Advisor, a forum posting most anywhere, a comment on a blog, an edit on a wiki, and interactivity yet to be invented. I wish I could bake that all together — every bit of it with permalinks and authorship — into a feed on my blog that can be organized in clever ways by topic and content type. I wish I could follow all those bits of conversation. And if I really want to get a headache, I want there to be more layers of conversation on top of all that. Oh, and it needs to be searchable. We’ll figure out the ad opportunities later. [...]

[...] One of my favorite podcasts, Schlaflos in München (Sleepless in Munich), just turned 200 (episodes, that is) and so Annik Rubens turned her show over to her audience. It’s pretty amazing: On a day’s notice, all sorts of German podcast fans recorded MP3s and phone messages and they made up the show: the podcast of the crowd. It’s also amusing to note that all the contributors is male. Annik is the podcast queen. [...]

I agree about Dave's voice, Morning Coffee Notes was the first ever podcast I listened to, very compelling voice. The nerdTV show is indeed really good. Hey, your son proves the theory that no matter what, you need to have a T-shirt (don't remember if it was Seth Godin or Hugh McLeod who said that) and I am debating whether to link to my German or English blog...

[...] Update: over verschillende tone of voice gesproken: Jeff Jarvis gaat in op verschillen tussen podcasts en mainstream radio. That’s what makes her that ideal podcaster… and that’s what makes podcasts as unlike radio as weblogs are unlike newspapers. They’re made of people. [...]

Jeff,

As a budding podcaster I found your comments insightful and inspirational. I was thinking that I needed to do a lot more production in order to sound more like radio, but now I'll re-consider that.

I'm also convined that podcasting has huge possibilities for learning languages. In fact, my podcast focuses on learning Mandarin Chinese. if you have a few moments you might like to try it out. It's an intro to the absolute basics of Chinese: www.ChinesePod.com.

I'd go so far as to suggest that the combination of podcasting/blogging will effect the language teaching business as it will the media business - that is, hugely.

Jeff, thanks for the link to Schaflos in Muenchen. I need a site like that to refresh my German and what a delightful voice.

Vassilian, as I’ve said before, does the oxymoronically impossible: She makes German sound sexy.

You need to see more Fassbinder films with Hanna Schygulla!

Or what about Marlene Dietrich (not that she made many films in German).

It's easy to be sexy in French. German is the linguistic equivalent of being sexy in men's pajamas.
