Hi,

I wonder if you can help me?

I am a trainee journalist and I’m keen to start writing articles which focus on interesting and new ideas. Your website really interested me and I wanted to know what your general thoughts were on fashion?

My main question is originality. Do you think that girls are becoming bored of fashion? More importantly do you think that it is OK to be a bit different and dress individually, rather than just following the latest trends.

Lastly, do you think that the models today present good ideas? and also set good examples to young women?

I will be truly grateful for any opinions which you have on this subject.

I have found well over 300 designers with websites and maintain a comprehensive fashion directory, but in general the fashion industry is slow technologically…

[with a sigh, and a sad look of dissapointment] i am just sorry that we, models, look like courpses to you. [looks up in delight] but why not–get into the industry and help the change if it is what should happen? [with a clever look in her eye] modeling is more than that: what i learned when i went to interview all these top models for my art exhibition in paris, i learned that the model used to be more than just a coathanger. they were important parts in the fashion industry. deisngers asked about ergonomic design of the clothese, ie how comfortable they were, what fabrics felt like on the skin, etc. it was really cool to listen to these women speak about how it used to be. i believe that technology can empower the fashion industry to move into the future. that’s why i created http://360fashion.anina.net

Eh, all I wanna know about the fashion industry is why all the women modeling look like skeletons or 10-year-old boys…

I remember I used to joke with my friends that I was gonna get into that field just so I could fill the runways with women that look like the girls in rap videos.

True, as Jackie and Jonny say, there are some designer blogs and video diaries, but the phrase “ivory tower” suddenly has new meaning. Totally agree about the corpse models.

Frankly I find a non-smiling woman very unattractive.

Could it be that the fashion industry is dependent upon physical proximity - the shows and so forth - and/or is afraid that appearing on the web will sully their image? Very bizarre attitude.

Let’s face it bubala, just going by that cadaverous looking pic on this blog, you couldn’t get a model to piss on you if your hair was on fire, so you really, really shouldn’t comment on how they look. Crude assertion? Sure, but then again, according to blogboy every citizenjournalist should have the same right to comment as any reporter at the NYT. Now I’m going to go make up some shit at wikipedia. I thank you.
