Try watching BBC News 24

Right. For 24/7 smarmy leftist, mulit-culti, PC, hate America dribble. They are one of the worst for blatant bias mixed with elitist attitudes.

Here's a site devoted to documenting their bias.

O'Reilly? CNN? Is he kidding? If you're going to critique something called television news, then it should both be on television AND actually be news (ie, investigating and reporting, not bullet-point pontificating or event "coverage").
The network nightlies are pathetically homoginized bare overviews that rarely amount to more than a headline plus three sentences of truisms, and the Sunday talk/interview shows are only newsworthy in the way a press conference is.
The News Hour is at least worth talking about. I inevitably learn something, and the interviews are worthwhile more often than not (the he said/she said "bipartisan" ones usually a bit less so). But it still falls prey to the utter inability to break through the morrass of relative truthiness (sorry to use it, but it's so handy).
Nightline was, of course, similarly a gift from the news gods, though I guess it's Koppel's interviewing ability/tenacity that largely made it so. (I haven't seen it since he left, but the one time I switched over, they were doing a piece on Howard Stern--because I guess the producers thought THAT was the best use of their time, ugh).

Basically, if you go to McDonald's, you get a burger; you can't complain about there being no decent chef in the kitchen.

No freakin' kidding!

Of course, Media 1.0 sell themselves as reliable and integrous - they say their facts are checked and corroborated - but they check their own facts, etc, and it would seem that too many major media outlets either have an agenda or are too afraid to ask a freakin' follow-up question or offer opposing data. Their ultimate goal is, generally, profit - which in and of itself is not an issue - except when they claim that their ultimate goal is journalism/reporting.

"If he doesn’t understand the most basic difference between commentary and (supposed) news, why should any of his media criticism have validity?

It still sucks beyond words

I primarily get my news from the internet. I occasionally buy the Sunday paper which is all I can stand of print media. If I feel the need to watch TV for news, I'll only tune into Brit Hume at FOX.

From the internet, I learned of the WAPO's disgusting treatment and thin corrections of the Bill Roggio story. I wish the MSM were a trusted source for news, but sadly they remain clueless.

it sucks. Beyond sucks. It absolutely blows. There are no words to express the suckage anymore.

Well, that’s perhaps too much of a blanket condemnation.

NO it is not too much of condemnation. It is not enough. But he is right there are no words to express it.

{But I have had the experience of having cable news on just to have something on and then looking back after two hours to realize I didn’t learn a damned thing new.}
Or miss a damned thing--after a week CNN just keeps milking the same cow for that same Sago story. It's like a soap opera. I would bet they'll still be featuring Anderson Cooper specials well into next week--just the next episode to the same story and repeat everything that preceded. Even Newspapers are better.

That is the problem cable news has. There really is not much new every two hours, but they still have time to fill and ads to sell.
