I had my first A-Fib event in September, 2001 at age 57.

Started out at 200 mg Toprol XL and reduced to 100-125 mg Toprol XL per day during a five year period. Side effects became too much during the five year period. On a different medicine now-not real happy with it.

Hope you feel better. Here's an idea to make all those greens palatable. Saute Olive oil, diced garlic together. Add spinach leaves or kale leaves, my favorite, and mix until they are cooked, maybe 2-3 minutes. That's it!

Actually the wisdom of crowds idea has been going on sucessfully on Usenet for over twenty years.
Here is a link to the sci.med.cardiology group via Google:
http://groups.google.com/group/sci.med.cardiology?lnk=gschg&hl=en

What bogging did that was different was to allow individuals to start their own group and post it on a publicly available web site with little or no prior computer expertise. Usenet has a complicated mechanism of voting before a new discussion group can be added and the information is not stored centrally (except that Google seems to have taken on the archiving task).

Before the "web" I used to claim to my co-workers that I could get any technical question answered within 24 hours just by posting it to the appropriate Usenet group. I never lost the bet.
