I don’t know why I would ever sign up to have GQ magazine send me mobile spam. What of value could they possibly say in an SMS: “Remmber your collar stays today”?

The article says that there will be offers of sales, special events and the like. I wonder if that sort of thing will be enough. There are companies in Europe that send out daily editorial-esqe content, but I have had zero interest in that, too. I worry that, once the proverbial cat is out of the bag (their marketing departments have your cell number) you won’t be able to get it back in. It certainly would change the dynamic of texting to have a continuous barrage of spam coming that route.

The point is that SMS is not free - like email - an that’s why we do not see as much mobile spam as email ones.
