Munich. You must surely be aware that’s where Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty used to be based during the Cold War.
Thanks to their broadcasts the peoples of “eastern” (I prefer to use the term “central” and not Stalin’s Yalta division of Europe into East and West) managed, despite efforts at jamming, to hear what was actually happening behind the Iron Curtain. In fact, there was always somewhere an unjammed frequency so that party officials could themselves listen in - the broadcasts had credibility even amongst detractors on the Communist side.

Try Hefeweizen, Weisswürschtel with sweet mustard (but only till 11:00am), Radi, Obazda and Brezn. It´s delicious food and watching some girls wearing Dirndl makes you easily forget where home is.
Enjoy Bavaria and let me know when your around in the North. It´s so much nicer here in Hamburg
