Still quite a contrast with The Time's chiefs slashing of "We the media"

Hasn't Big Media for years defended their perma-negativity by saying that they must remain cynical of those in power?

But now bloggers must work with journalists?

Big Media organs are all for the integrity of adversial relationships until faced with one themself.

Another props to the Guardian editor - a surprisingly innovative vision for a media biz old-timer...

On the matter of complementarity - it seems like only those people who are not aware of blogs' role, their capabilities and content are still trying to debate whether blogs are better than msm. It's like debating what is better TV or newspapers... The answer is obvious: It depends... Also, simbiotic relationship between blogs and media is obvious to any logical person. Plus, it was already empirically documented as well.

I really believe that to continue to survive the MSM must be interactive with their readers. Most any blogger will tell you that besides a good article the next attraction of perusing a site is to comment or share viewpoints.

I agree with the idea that newspapers and bloggers must work together to promote quality journalism and blogging. The best way to do that is for both media to promote and reward quality writing and to give no quarter to garbage and sleeze writers.
