hasn’t done it lately. maybe that’s because i’m using the samsung as my main monitor. maybe because i haven’t been doing much msword lately.

When I try to open MagicTune I get an error saying “Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /Applications/MagicTune.app/Contents/Resources/Java/LibMagicJniLib.jnilib: ”

Any ideas?

Sounds to me like it is a video driver issue. Installing the monitor driver might help the video card communicate better with the monitor, and make sure you have an updated driver for the video card in the Mac.

Oh wait, this is a Mac, Mac’s work perfectly out of the box with everything, including cute Japanese girls, I know, I saw it on a commercial. It must be a PBKAC error.

Jeff, It’s a Word flaw. Just re-start Word.

When I switch from PowerBook only to feeding my monitor, Word windows won’t grow vertically beyond the PowerBook’s resolution. After restarting Word, it’s fine.

I’ve seen this with Viewsonics and others. Always thought it was a bug with Word on the mac. Does it happen in other apps?

I’ve been using computers (including Macs) for 15 years, and I’ve never installed drivers for a monitor.

An experiment: Make the Samsung the primary display and close the Powerbook (turning off its built in screen). Does the 215 still have the redraw problem?

As a general rule of thumb, it’s a good idea to get the Mac driver for any third party accessory you buy to use with your Mac.
