Obamavision

Barack Obama has started his own channel on Brightcove, Beet.tv reports.

Beet.TV has learned that Brightcove’s arrangement with Obama will be multifaceted. It will include ongoing publication of campaign videos, the creation of a Obama “channel” on Brightcove and a syndication function which will allow bloggers and Web sites to have campaign clips published directly on their pages.

Steve Safran at Lost Remote thinks it’s a good idea. I agree. It gives him control of the presentation. But I also saw on YouTube that a few dozen people put up the Obama announcement video. That’s not as smart; it splinters the rank-and-file. What we saw in the Dean campaign is that they want to gather in one place and talk and conspire (and date, too).

I’m sure some of his supporters mirrored the video onto YouTube because when it first went live, it wasn’t in an embeddable or sharable player and the the people had to figure it out for themselves. The “Brightcove” wrapper must’ve been added during the day because in the beginning, his announcement was just a straight video file.

PS) It appears that one of those users who uploaded to YouTube was the actual campaign, though theirs or no one else’s tape of the announcement came up via a search on the morning of the announcement. Nonetheless, I now see that one of the YouTube uploaders gives every indication that they are official.

I wonder if Obama will use U-tube to disclose that he attended a madrasa for 4 years but kept that out of his little book. Will he tell us why on u-tube??

I read a comment on here that was disparaging to me. The person stated that Obama studied at a madrasa for a number of years. The comment was snide and uneducated at best. Anyone of any slight education realizes that when living in an Islamic society as he did as a youth (Indonesia) you don’t have too many options on schooling. Madrasas are the main form of public education. Not all of them are fundamentalist. Also the man is a bonafide hardcore Christian which is obvious to all who read his book or heard him speak. And his exposure to Islamic and international society is a plus at a time when our current administrators and emperor have so little knowledge of international affairs and policies that they have gotten us into an almost irreparable situation in the world as relates to our allies and our enemies. I’m an educated die hard Republican who believes in our platform whole heartedly. But our leaders have lied and abandoned their platform. Its time for a positive change. Barak from what I’ve seen read and studied offers that without ruse. He has my vote I hope he has yours. People say he is inexperienced Abraham Lincoln had the same level of experience when he came to office. I’ll take an inexperienced man of vision with his record all all day over the experienced liars who’ve gotten us into these situations through their actions over the last 30 years.

In general madrasas offer a religious-based curriculum, focusing on the Quran and Islamic texts. Anyone knows that. Even today, only about 20-25% in Indonesia attend madrasas. There were many choices available to Osama in a country so rich in International schools. However, that was not my point–I want to know why he chose to admit the fact that he had been schooled in a madrasa–I read for four years. A predominantly muslim school is not the same as a madrasa which is likely 100% muslim. Was Obama being dishonest by his omission–just wondering………..

I know he claims to be a hardcore Christian. Is he an apostate from islam? I read about his church and if Bush’s church said this, you’d call it racist.
This is a link to Obama’s church. Now please treat it the same way you you treat Evangelicals, etc.

What exactly is Obama’s record?? On National security? In International Affairs? Am I missing something?

Kat - First get your head out of your ass and listen. Obama NEVER attended a Madrasa, or religious school. He attended a state run public school in Indonesia, that was co-ed - a no-no for Madrasas. It also has Christians and Buddhists in attendance. You disparage schools with a religious based curriculum. Does everyone who attends a Muslim school, Catholic school, Protestant School, Jewish School, Buddhist school, etc, become a religious zealot? Did you read Obama’s book? If not, do so. He is quite open and informing about his Christianity and how he came to it. You seem to take the lies you hear and believe them, even after they are shown to be lies.

By now it should be clear to those who have posted about Sen. Obama that the story was planted by a political blog, and made its way to Fox and Friends, then on to the talk shows (Hannity, Limbaugh, et c. ). Of course there will likely be no admission of fault, only the lame excuse of “we just report the news”. I do hope the reasonably thoughtful persons who heard this story noticed that the ‘news’ was not attributed to anyone. Did Kat ever write where she/he read it? Did Fox? Did Hannity? On several radio and tv shows the story was expanded to imply that a Democratic rival’s camp had released the information. How nice - the proverbial two birds with one stone.
No true Christian, evangelical or not, should be proud of repeating that story. It was a lie, it was hurtful, and to tell it makes one a gossip at best. My Bible makes that a sin.

My mistake. John Gibson, at least, did report where he got the story about Obama. A publication called “Insight” or similar. Turns out the magazine is published by the same folks that publish “The Washington Times” .

    That about says it all.
