For about the same price you can get a 7Mp Canon digital camera that does stills and also VGA video, has a proper zoom lens and takes SD cards that are more flexible and easier to transfer to your PC. As for the advertising that states that video from the Flip rivals that from more expensive camcorders, that is a lie. For a start most camcorders are at least either 720x576 PAL or 720x480 NTSC resolution. VGA is only 640x480. Furthermore I suspect the sound on the Flip is mono not stereo? The Flip is hype. I picked up a Flip Mino about two weeks ago and carry it with me everywhere. The day after posting my 3rd ever video to YouTube it saw 500 views (nothing at all like the 100,000+ videos achieved by big timers, but I was stoked). Come to find out you can even edit Flip videos using iMovie. Very cool.
