Selected Buzzmachine posts are now being translated into two languages: into French on Rue89 and into Spanish on 233Grados.com. I’m delighted but also distressed that I can’t understand the discussions there. It makes me ashamed anew at being an American who speaks only 1.5 languages (the .5 is reallly bad German).
(I’m also hoping that this might help get my book translated for French and Spanish markets. Hint.)
You know there’s this great thing called Google Translate that can help you at least follow the conversations, even if it doesn’t allow you to actively participate. You should try it!

It’s a very good thing that your posts are now being translated in other languages. Anyway, many thanks for writing them. I’m blogging in French but your blog and columns in the Guardian are important sources of inspiration for me and I frequently refer to them.
Make it to 0.75 and write it in German, too
We Europeans live in small countries and cross borders often, other cultures, others languages, other ways of thinking. We have dinner at 10 pm in Spain, 8.30 in France, 7 in Germany. I hope it helps broading our minds…But English is the language of the global village. Any way, I hope you’ll find a French Publisher.
Jeff, I share your regret at not knowing additional languages, but let’s not take the clichéd swipe at America while you’re at it. Your life, your choices. The resources were always there.
