Defined
: When Gen. Sanchez said Saddam was in a "spider hole," I wondered what that was. Dave Winer, whose central nervous system is an Internet node, just looked it up: "A spider hole is a disguised entrance to a tunnel used by the Vietcong."free 3gp clips for pc download Posted by jarvis at December 14, 2003 09:44 AM | TrackBack

On MSNBC, Carl Rochelle mentioned the "spider holes" used by the Japanese in World War II. A quick google search indicated the term was in use then. free 3gp clips for pc download Posted by: Michelle on December 14, 2003 10:47 AM

One quibble: spider holes were/are used by soldiers as fighting positions.
The hole from which Saddam was hauled might be better referred to a "priest hole", which was used by persons hiding from the authorities. See English historical houses from the period of Cromwell and earlier.free 3gp clips for pc download

Not to put too fine a point on it, I believe the most accurate term for Saddam's hiding place would be 'shit hole'.
