Runaway (Bride) story, still running
: Dave Winer says that Aaron Brown was the last real news on (I can hear arguments on both side of that view) but when the show devoted itself to the runaway bride, that was the last straw for Dave. CNN goes on his pay-no-nevermind list. descarga dance 4 club machine
It so happens that On the Media interviewed CNN head Jonathan Klein on this week's show and hammered him on the runaway bride, asking whether having the bride run away with every show was an example of his vow to get in depth with more stories. I would have thought he'd have chuckled and said, hey, sometimes ya gotta do what your competition's doing. But, no, he said that, indeed, the runaway bride was an example of his vow for in-depth coverage. They covered the bride in depth. Why anyone give a s#&% about this story is beyond me----the MSM teed it up, mouths watering, as the next Lacy Peterson circus. When it turned out to be a case of cold feet, then somehow THAT became deemed a story worth round-the-clock coverage. I don't think that large media organizations have to splinter to survive, but it is going to take a lot more than some flashy new graphics or a new boorish loudmouth host. They need a bottom up restructuring with more attention paid to delivering a variety of content to various niche markets through new technologies.descarga dance 4 club machine
It is pathetic to see people so entrenched in their myopic world that they can not see what buffoons they are - much less how little they really understand about the "masses". It seemed to me that Fox was the one playing this story up (although CNN shamefully followed suit). How ironic that we have the pro-war crowd being sooooo september 10th. Don't the pro-war crowd realise we're at war?
I would like to meet the moron who thought that the coverage of the runaway bride was about right, not too much, not too little, just so I understand exactly what was so damn interesting about this nutjob and her fiancee because this one simply stumps me.

Jom Klein should keep his mouth shut and ether put is time into bringing CNN back to the 24/7 MEWS cable channel it was born to be or QUIT!!. He's succeeded to ruinng CNN and has taken all "hard news" and thrown it away. He thinks he's got new "ideas" but his ideas are ruining shows like NewsNight. aaron brown having to do stories like "The Runaway Bride" or Michael Jackson is an afront to serious journalists and intelligent audiences everywhere.
