Big ass ad
Sometime today (when my webmaster gets off the school bus), a big-ass ad will likely appear atop this page. It’s for a Warner Brothers movie and they came to me, which is cool. More on that later. I’m trying lots of ad things to try to learn: BlogAds, Burst, Google, Yahoo, Feedburner RSS. And today at Web 2.0 I’ll be leading a discussion on advertising in this distributed world. If you’re there, stop by. And buy an ad.
UPDATE: Well, I’m having problems with the ad and so it may not appear after all. I’ll tell the story as soon as I know how it turns out.

I wonder if I’ll even see it at this point. I use firefox’s adblock addon.

I’m looking forward to seeing what it will be (I have my suspicions, but I’ll keep them to myself). I think it’s great movie studios - especially Warner Bros. are reaching out to blog writers as a way to advertise and build anticipation for their movies.
Just look at what Universal did recently for Serenity. They provided blog writers with screening passes to give away and really helped spread the word for the flick, which was great by the way. Unfortunately that didn’t help much at the box office but still a very positive first step.

I don’t mind the ad….but at least give me a “X” so I can kill it.
